AM Best has revised its outlook to positive from stable and affirmed Enid, Okla.-based Triangle Insurance Company’s Financial Strength Rating of A- (Excellent) and Long-Term Issuer Credit Rating of “a-” (Excellent).
The Credit Rating (Rating) reflects TIC’s balance sheet strength, which AM Best assesses as very strong, as well as its adequate operating performance, neutral business profile and appropriate enterprise risk management (ERM).
The positive outlook reflects strong underwriting performance and improved profitability over the past three years. With underwriting performance improving significantly in 2024 and 2025, five- and 10-year underwriting ratios compare favorably with commercial casualty comprehensive lines, reflecting strong loss control and disciplined underwriting supported by improved customer segmentation.
These underwriting enhancements demonstrate the effectiveness of the company’s ERM, which AM Best has appropriately evaluated. TIC maintains a strong niche serving cooperatives within agribusiness.
AM Best said the company combines member benefits with company equity through its Triangle Select program. Additionally, capital provided through Triangle Select and strong earnings trends resulted in substantial earnings growth, which in turn strengthened TIC’s risk-adjusted capital, as measured by Best’s capital adequacy ratio (BCAR), supporting its overall balance sheet strength assessment as very strong.
